There have been significant breakthroughs in neuroscience that can inform how we work with and lead others.

This facilitated course covers an introduction to our brain, how it is structured and what we know about its functioning. We consider neurotransmission and plasticity as well as how we learn and develop, We then move into how an understanding of neuroscience can inform how we work with individuals and teams before exploring some leadership frameworks based on evidence about the brain.

What will you achieve?

By the end of this course you will understand:

  • The principles of brain structure and function
  • The basis of learning and memory
  • The role of threats and rewards in brain function and human responses to them
  • The common cognitive biases that impact behaviours
  • How to apply your understanding to common work issues
  • Reflect on your own leadership style and how you can adapt given your new understanding of the brain.
Assessment
  • Participants are asked to keep a journal of their reflections on their leadership style and how they can apply the learning in this course.
